NZ film festival documentary The Song of the Kauri, was completed (Sound Post – Island Bay Studios) in early July 2012 and is due to premier in Wellington on the 7th August. The feature length film is an interesting story of a Luthier’s dream to make his instruments from the New Zealand native kauri tree. One tree in particular. We learn along the way about the legacy of Kauri logging in the past and we view various possibilities for change in the future. Its a great story and a riveting tabling of the facts from a talented director.
