Ginger Brown are currently touring Germany and Europe touting the album they recorded here in Wellington at the Island Bay Studios. I really rate this group. The singer sounds like the guy from The Animals, and plays keys like Ray Manzerick. Its an Organ,drums,guitar three-piece. Dark and kooky; high energy and rough-edged. I first got to know them when they played at the studios 2007 Oil Party.
My fifteen year old son Marco is making a 1:100 scale model of the studio to help with the redesign and earthquake strengthening. Yikes, I have a fifteen year old son! The model of the studio is a continuation of such work as ‘the dalek’, which is known to many who visit the studio. The snazzy replica building has bits that lift out. Photocopies of sketchplans have been laminated onto card, then cut out and glued together. Im certain its going to be really useful to help get all our heads around what has to be done and to see just how good the future layout will be. -Nic
