TANIWHA – A GOLDMINER’S STORY
Thursday, May 3rd, 2012

Nic traveled to Queenstown in April to record a short film about a gold miner’s story of loss and grief. ‘I loved central Otago in Autumn. Haven’t been there in a really long time. It was a lovely film and a great crew. Some tough locations near roads – the period the film is set in predates cars tootling past.   I’m looking forward to the challenge of completing those car-free natural sound scapes down the track when the film has been edited. Simon Price is the editor and Asuka Sylvie is a really talented director, so the film looks to be in good shape. However, apparently there might not be a musical score – so there could be a lot riding on the sound.’ – Nic McGowan
